Gaston Reinoso has been appointed associate vice chancellor/vice president for Human Resources. Reinoso was previously assistant vice president for Human Resource Management at Louisiana State University.

“I am very excited to be a part of such a dynamic and visionary higher educational environment,” Reinoso said after assuming the UH position this summer. “I’m very much looking forward to working with faculty, staff and students to continue the University’s momentum toward a ‘best-in-class’ workforce organization.”

Reinoso earned a bachelor’s degree in international business and business administration from Lindenwood University and an MBA from Southern Illinois University. Prior to his position at LSU, he served as assistant vice president for talent development and human resources at the University of Akron.

He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Louisiana State Civil Service System HR Advisory Committee, and the College and Universities Human Resources Professional Organization.

“As the chief human resources officer, Gaston is a key member of our team,” said Jim McShan, senior vice president and vice chancellor for Administration and Finance, “and we’ll be relying on his considerable experience guiding organizational change, workforce planning and development and System integration within the higher educational environment.”
